Adi, Founder of MiGreat Germany

My name is Adi.

I grew up in a small town by the ocean in Northern Germany, studied at Cambridge & Harvard, and then spent years in consulting and startups in Ghana, South Africa, Nigeria, and Kenya, India, Afghanistan, Mexico, and Argentina.

Back in Germany I have held executive positions in tech — including at Zalando and Blinkist — consistently hiring international talent and seeing how complex the German visa journey can be and what it takes to build long term careers in Germany.

Over that decade, I have supported countless individuals with their immigration processes. So far, the rate of success is 100%.

Today, I combine my German roots, my knowledge of the German labour market and immigration system, and the power of AI — so when you reach out, you get all of my experience and personal attention alongside the full breadth of available knowledge.

I live in Berlin with my husband and three wild daughters.

An airmail letter, 1972.

Fifty years ago, a single letter changed my family's fate.

In 1972, my 22-year-old father was living in Lagos, Nigeria. He dreamed of studying abroad, but the U.S. and U.K. were financially out of reach. Then came an airmail letter from a friend of a friend in Germany: “Come to Germany. Tuition is free.”

Through handwritten letters, he learned every step — how to get the visa, when to travel, even which train to take to arrive in Munich. He came, became a doctor, delivered hundreds of babies, started his own practice, created jobs — and eventually, created me.

For decades, I have wished every newcomer could have that friend — the one who already knows the way.

That is why I started MiGreat — to scale the friend who knows the way to Germany. So that anyone, anywhere, can access the same clarity and support my father once found through a simple letter.

AI is what makes the scaling possible. The guidance I have been giving one person at a time — I can now give that same quality of attention to far more people, wherever they are in the world.

I came to Germany from Lagos with MiGreat's support. I learned German and completed my studies as a Preschool Teacher — and was immediately hired full time. The German bureaucracy is stressful, but MiGreat was there every step of the way.

I got contact information for MiGreat from someone I connected with on LinkedIn and Adi & Ahmad were prompt in responding. Not only were they quick but they were also very clear on what kind of customers they cater to and what exactly they can provide. The most important piece is they never left any conversation open and made sure I had what I needed — and just them taking the time and care to help someone across the globe made all the difference.

Euro coins and notes

One of the world's top economies — with benefits no other offers

Even amid recent economic headwinds, Germany remains the world's 3rd largest economy, with a nominal GDP of $5 trillion (IMF, 2025). More than one in three companies cannot find the talent they need — and 83% expect the shortage to worsen. For skilled workers from abroad, this is one of the most reliable job markets in the world.

  • Free primary, secondary and university education
  • Universal healthcare
  • Among the strongest worker protections in the world

These are not perks reserved for citizens. If you work in Germany, they are yours too.

Earn significantly more — in a currency that goes further

Talent from Asia, Africa and South America can typically increase their salaries 8–10x by working in Germany. Median gross monthly salaries:

Nurse€4,329/month
Electrician€4,627/month
Software Engineer€6,097/month

New: Enter Germany to find work — no job offer required

Germany has introduced two pathways that allow qualified graduates and skilled workers to enter the country and look for work before committing to a job:

Got a Degree or Qualification in your Home Country?

The Opportunity Card (Chancenkarte), introduced June 2024, lets you enter Germany and search for work for up to one year — no job offer needed, and if you speak English, no German required.

Already studied or trained in Germany?

You can apply for a Job Seeker Visa — giving you up to 18 months after graduation to find qualified employment.

Earn while you train: Ausbildung (Paid Apprenticeships)

In most countries, vocational training costs money. In Germany, it pays you.

The average training salary reached approximately €1,070 per month in 2025, with higher-demand fields like IT and industrial trades paying more. An Ausbildung typically takes just 2 to 3.5 years — after which you hold a nationally recognised qualification valid across Europe.

There is even a dedicated Vocational Training Search Visa for people under 35 to come to Germany to find an apprenticeship place. A German language level of B1 is required.

Germany supports families — from day one

If you have children and you are living in Germany, regardless of your nationality:

  • Schooling is free at every level
  • You receive €250 per child, per month (Kindergeld) until age 18 — automatic, not means-tested, for all legal residents.

One of the most modern immigration systems for skilled workers — anywhere

Between 2023 and 2025, Germany overhauled its immigration law for skilled workers. The reforms are widely considered among the most progressive in the Western world, opening new pathways for people with:

  • Recognised university degrees
  • Vocational qualifications
  • In-demand skills — even without a formal degree in some cases

The Pathfinder

€59.99

The difference between those who immigrate and those who don’t? Clarity from the start.

Germany has more than 20 immigration routes for skilled talent — and which one makes most sense for you depends entirely on your individual profile. If financial means are limited, it sometimes makes sense to arrive via one pathway and then switch to another. The Pathfinder takes you through four clear stages. By the end, you’ll know exactly which path is right for you and the steps to make it happen.

Aerial view of a winding forest road — your route to Germany, mapped
What's inside · 4 steps

We start by understanding your full picture. Not just your degree — everything that shapes which doors are actually open to you.

  • Your education — degree, vocational certificate, or other qualifications
  • Your work experience and career history
  • Your German and English language level
  • Your finances and ability to support yourself
  • Your family situation (any dependents, any family in Germany/Europe)
  • Your career & life goals: where you want to be in 3–5 years

Based on your profile, we map every route to Germany that is realistically open to you. For each one, we explain what it involves, what it costs, how long it takes, and what the catch is — so you can make an informed choice, not a guess.

  • All eligible pathways clearly laid out
  • Costs, timelines, and requirements for each, showing clearly what’s covered vs what’s missing
  • Based on this info, you can determine which pathway is best for you

Once you have chosen your pathway, we build your personalised action plan — concrete enough that you can implement it yourself, without needing to hire anyone or pay for further support.

  • Exactly which documents to gather, and when
  • How and where to apply — step by step
  • How to identify and apply for funding, if you need it and your profile allows it
  • Embassy wait times and when to start each step
  • Common mistakes to avoid

Once you have your plan, a MiGreat team member is available for a follow-up call to walk through your report, answer any open questions, and make sure you know exactly where to start.

Recognition Support

The Recognition Guide

€99.00

Your qualification, officially recognised — the credential German employers trust.

Whether a diploma as a dental technician or a BSc in nursing — if you want to work in many of Germany’s professions that fall into the ‘vocational’ realm, getting your qualification officially recognised in Germany is one of the most important steps you can take, whether you are still at home or already here. A recognition letter shows a German employer that you are serious, that your qualification has been evaluated and is comparable to German standards. It makes hiring you much more attractive. We guide you through every step of this process: finding the right authority, building your documents, following up until you have a result, and making sure you understand what to do next.

Close-up of an official German recognition stamp
What's inside · 4 steps

Germany’s recognition system is spread across dozens of bodies — and the wrong starting point can cost you months. We identify the exact authority responsible for your qualification before any application is filed.

  • Academic vs. vocational recognition — we establish which applies to your qualification
  • Regulated vs. unregulated professions — the rules are different, and the route depends on this
  • IHK FOSA for most commercial and industrial vocational qualifications
  • The three bodies not participating in IHK FOSA, handled separately
  • Regionally organised Handwerkskammer for skilled trades
  • State-level authorities for health, education, law, and other regulated professions

Before you spend a single euro on applications or translations, we confirm whether your qualification is eligible for recognition and lay out the expected cost.

  • Eligibility assessment for your specific qualification and profession
  • Clear cost estimate: authority fees and translations — you pay all costs directly to authorities, no hidden fees to us
  • Tips to keep costs as low as possible
  • Complete documentation package assembled with you — nothing missing, nothing extra

Recognition authorities in Germany are known for slow timelines and little communication. We do not wait. We follow up directly with phone calls and written follow-ups on your behalf until a decision is issued.

  • Direct phone follow-up with the recognition body on your behalf
  • Status tracking and escalation when timelines are not met
  • Immediate response if additional documents are requested mid-process
  • We stay on this until you hold a written recognition decision

Whether your recognition comes back full, partial, or with conditions, we explain exactly what it means for your career in Germany and what to do next.

  • Plain-language explanation of your recognition decision
  • For partial recognition: a clear map of which bridging qualifications close the gap
  • Options for additional courses — in your home country before you leave, or in Germany after arrival
  • How to access state-funded recognition support available to you and future employers
  • How to present your recognition — or partial recognition — powerfully to German employers

A recognition certificate from a German authority like IHK-FOSA tells a German employer something no language certificate can: that your qualification has been evaluated and is comparable to German standards. This removes risk for the employer and starts conversations — especially if you are job-hunting from abroad.

  • Even a partial recognition opens doors — it is actually the most common result, and both you and a future employer can often access state-funded bridging support to close the gap
  • A recognition, also when partial, is a key way to trigger employer conversations, especially when applying from your home country
  • We advise on exactly which additional courses move you from partial to full recognition, whether in your home country or in Germany, and how you can get German funding towards this

A passenger plane taking off into the sky
What's inside · 5 steps

Whether you are heading to Germany as an au pair, an apprentice, a student, or via the Opportunity Card, every pathway has its own document requirements. We review everything before it goes anywhere — so you do not lose time to avoidable mistakes.

  • Full document review at every stage of your application
  • We tell you exactly what is missing, what needs correcting, and what to do next
  • Recognition support included where your pathway requires it
  • Certified translation requirements identified, with guidance on how to keep costs minimal wherever possible

For many of our clients, the hardest part is not the visa — it is finding a German employer willing to hire from abroad, and then convincing them. We give you the tools to optimise your chances.

  • Guidance on where and how to find employers open to international candidates
  • German-style CV reviewed and corrected to meet local expectations
  • Motivational letter reviewed for tone, structure, and content
  • Ongoing feedback on applications as you send them

Two interviews stand between you and Germany: the employer interview and the embassy visa interview. We prepare you for both.

  • Mock interviews with real feedback so you know what to expect
  • Coaching on how German employers conduct interviews and what they are looking for
  • Specific preparation for your embassy or consulate visa interview
  • We flag the common mistakes that cost people their applications

German immigration authorities, recognition bodies, and employer institutions are known for slow processing and little communication. We chase them directly on your behalf throughout your process.

  • Direct follow-up calls and written communication with authorities on your behalf
  • Status tracking so you always know where things stand
  • Immediate response when additional documents or information are requested
  • Nothing falls through the cracks — we stay on it until each step is closed

You are not left to figure things out between milestones. Every month we check in to review your progress, address blockers, and agree on next steps. And whenever something comes up in between, we are on WhatsApp.

  • Monthly video or phone call to review progress on your pathway
  • Ad hoc WhatsApp support for questions, document checks, and reassurance
  • A dedicated MiGreat team member accountable for your journey
  • Up to 12 months of support — we work at your pace, not ours

German immigration is not complicated because the rules are impossible — it is complicated because there are many steps, each depending on the last, spread across authorities that move slowly and communicate little. The people who struggle are not the ones who lack qualifications. They are the ones who did not have someone in their corner when they needed it most.

  • Have a question? Message us on WhatsApp and we will answer it
  • Not sure if a document is right? Send it to us and we will check it
  • Feeling stuck or overwhelmed? That is exactly what your monthly call is for
