July Webinar: free guidance to 85 selected participants from Ghana & Nigeria

Some numbers tell you everything you need to know about demand. Ours: over 350 people applied for a free webinar on pathways to Germany for students and recent graduates in Nigeria and Ghana — and we could only fit 85 of them into the (virtual) room.

That gap says a lot. There's a huge appetite among talented young Nigerians and Ghanaians to build a future in Germany — and not nearly enough clear, honest information about how to actually do it.

So on Monday, 27 July 2026 — 8pm in Lagos, 7pm in Accra — we sat down over Google Meet with 85 students and recent graduates to change that.

What we covered

We didn't want this to be another generic "study abroad" pitch. We built the session around the questions people actually lose sleep over:

• The real pathways into Germany — study, apprenticeship, work, and how existing qualifications get recognized once you arrive
• Where the jobs actually are — which degrees, qualifications, and fields German employers are actively hiring for from abroad right now
• Getting into public university, tuition-free — how Germany's public university system works, and how to navigate it as an international applicant
• The unglamorous stuff that trips people up — long embassy wait times, funding the blocked account, and lesser-known alternatives to it

That last point tends to matter most in the room. Pathways to Germany aren't complicated because the destination is unclear — they're complicated because of a dozen small, avoidable obstacles nobody warns you about in advance.

A voice from the other side: Amarachi Grace

Information sessions are useful. But nothing lands like hearing it from someone who's already made the move.

Amarachi Grace came to Germany with MiGreat's help in September 2025. She joined us live to share what the last several months have actually looked like — not the highlight reel, the real version.

She's now moving into an apprenticeship, and spoke candidly about what's easier here than she expected — and what still isn't. Life in Germany, she said, is in many ways simply easier than what she left behind. But she's been honest about the adjustment too: German food took some getting used to, and her first German winter was a genuine test of will.

That mix — real gains, real friction — is exactly the kind of honesty we want every attendee to hear before they make a decision this big.

Why this matters

Every one of the 350 applicants represents someone who's already done the hard part: deciding they want more for their career and are willing to go get it. Our job is to make sure that ambition doesn't get lost in bureaucracy, misinformation, or a blocked account they didn't know how to fund.

85 people got that clarity this time. We're working on making sure a lot more than 85 get it next time.
