From Lagos to Germany: Spotlighting Talent from the UNILAG Study Fair 2026

In May 2026, MiGreat had the privilege of joining the University of Lagos (UNILAG) Study Fair—an event bringing together ambitious students and leading global institutions.

Hosted by the Office of Global Engagement and Strategic Partnerships at UNILAG the fair created a powerful space for students to explore international education and career pathways.

Alongside institutions such as Birmingham City University, University of Bradford, EM Strasbourg Business School, Carnegie Mellon University Africa, Queen’s University Belfast, and Northeastern University, MiGreat brought a focused lens: pathways to Germany.

Strong Signals: Germany Is Top of Mind

The response was immediate.

During the live session alone, more than 20 students reached out to MiGreat already. Since then, interest has continued to grow—reinforcing what we see across markets: Germany remains one of the most attractive destinations for globally minded students and young professionals.

Turning Interest into Opportunity

To translate that interest into action, UNILAG students received exclusive access to MiGreat’s student pathway at a discounted rate (https://www.migreat-germany.com/pathfinder/studentoffer). This program is designed to guide students end-to-end—from choosing the right study program in Germany, to navigating applications, visa processes, and long-term career planning. The goal is simple: remove complexity and give students a structured, realistic path into Germany’s education and labor market.

In addition MiGreat offered German language scholarships to selected participants—supporting their first concrete step toward Germany.

Three standout candidates have now been selected.

Meet the Scholars

Judah A.

A 22-year-old final-year Systems Engineering student with a clear goal: pursuing a Master’s degree in Germany. Judah represents a growing cohort of technically skilled students looking to align their education with Germany’s strong engineering ecosystem.

Favour E.

A 25-year-old graduate with a Bachelor of Education in Biology, Favour is taking a different route—planning to enter Germany through an apprenticeship pathway and build a career in public health. Her journey highlights the breadth of opportunities beyond traditional academic routes.

Faithful O.

At just 18, Faithful is already planning ahead. Currently studying Economics, she aims to pursue a Master’s degree in Germany and build a career in development or research institutions. Her ambition reflects a new generation thinking globally from the start.

Why This Matters

What we saw at UNILAG was not just interest—it was intent.

Students are not only exploring Germany; they are actively preparing for it. And with the country’s ongoing skilled labor shortage, this alignment between talent and opportunity is only becoming stronger.

A Collective Effort

This initiative would not have been possible without the collaboration of the University of Lagos and its Office of Global Engagement and Strategic Partnerships, as well as the broader network of participating institutions.

While there is no single official public page for the Study Fair 2026, UNILAG’s global engagement initiatives can be explored here: https://unilag.edu.ng/

To the scholars—congratulations on taking this important step.

And to everyone involved in making this platform possible: thank you for helping unlock global opportunities for the next generation.
