What is the Opportunity Card?
The Opportunity Card (Chancenkarte) is a points-based job-seeking visa that allows you to come to Germany for up to 1 year to search for employment. You need at least 6 points based on qualifications, experience, language skills, and age.

Sad that your qualification is not automatically recognized? But don't worry, candidates with 2-year degrees that are recognized in their home country are eligible for the opportunity card visa! Important: Financial Requirements

For the Opportunity Card, you must demonstrate financial resources of at least €1,091 per month through one of these options:

  • Blocked Bank Account:
    Deposit the full amount (€13,092 for 12 months) in a German blocked account
  • Declaration of Commitment:
    Have someone in Germany guarantee your financial support
  • Job Offer:
    Employment contract with monthly salary of at least €1,091
